Expect a mixed bag of weather depending on where you are across the country this week, as Florida will see very warm weather, while other places will receive more snow, and a severe weather outbreak is looming; plus, more of today’s weather news and forecast.
Florida is going to see very warm temperatures for spring break, with temperatures forecast to be in the upper 80s this week.
Today, Orlando will see a high near 88, about 10 degrees above normal. Daytona Beach in Palm Coast will be 83, Winterhaven 88, Kissimmee, Ocala, and The Villages will all reach 89.
Melbourne may be the coolest place at 81.
Mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-to-upper 80s are in store for Central Florida throughout the week.
The Gulf Coast is also anticipating above-average temperatures this week, so expect warm beach conditions from Texas to Florida.
Here are a few quick highlights of what you can expect for weather conditions in the week ahead.
Winter still isn’t over, the potential for heavy snow remains in the northern US this week, and the following states could see snowfall mid-to-late week:
Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Northern Michigan.
A clash of air masses will occur over the Midwest mid-to-late week bringing the potential for severe weather to once again strike the South.
Today begins with rain showers spanning from Texas to the East Coast, north into the central plains and east across the Ohio Valley.
Expect mixed precipitation across parts of the west, northwest and the northern Rockies, as well as the upper midwest and into the New England states.
Some areas could see lower than normal temperatures throughout the week and into the weekend ranging from 10-to-15 degrees below average.
Travelers trying to make their way through the Sierra in California and into Lake Tahoe saw the Highway Patrol close I-80 and Highway 50 due to over three foot of snow in the area, whiteout conditions and holding of traffic as part of avalanche control.
The bad news for skiers who may have wanted to take advantage of these late-season conditions, due to coronavirus fears, most ski resorts are closed.
